Furry Flurry

I might malign a young canine,

For dim design and wimpy whine.

Though kids may yell and deem him swell,

He’s yet unmanaged; we can tell.

In sheer delight, my dear, I’d dance,

And give the pup a second chance,

If he’d be trained, not just restrained,

And all our floorings be unstained.

Friday Flash-55 (55 words)

Keen on Thirteen –

Friday, the 13th, Is Neither Hairy Nor Scary

Triskaidekaphobia [tris-kahy-dek-uh-foh-bee-uh] is the fear of the number 13.

Triskaidekaphobia. Scared? Not a bit.

The number thirteen frightens me not a whit.

For superstitions daunt me not,

Those ancient legends best forgot.

I’ll laugh and love and carry on until the day has split.

A Report of Rain

Umbrellas

By Pierre-Auguste Renoir

c1883

Reign Check

We pray for a boom of our fortune and fame.

In dark disarray, we distribute the blame.

The rabble we raise echoes empty around,

Although we ignore it, we validate sound.

When woes will pour

Like mourning pools,

Who can restore?

The One who rules.

With weak preconceptions, we cede our survival.

Perhaps what we need is an old tent revival.

Our destiny teeters, but we keep on climbing,

Pursuing our dreams while the pride pump is priming.

When woes will pour

Like mourning pools,

Who can restore?

The One who rules.

So, saddled with sorrows, we smirk from the heart,

Consider ourselves to be savvy and smart.

Unwilling to look to the Author of love,

We’ve lost the equation that leads us above.

When woes will pour

Like mourning pools,

Who can restore?

The One who rules.

God offers a reign check, another new chance,

For all who will stand up and join in the dance.

He longs to pour mercy to cover our stain,

To rule in our hearts with His own healing rain.

Sight vs. Might

Clear eyesight is critical, but vision truly counts for more. What would you do, if you suddenly lost your sight, as I did recently? I thank God daily for my praying friends. My Miracle Status really does depend on shared prayer, as my faithful friends keep my eyes focused where they belong.

Interceding Beats MiSreading –

A Rhymed Conception on Perception

My friends, they open up my eyes

With earnest prayers and groaning sighs –

For even when I cannot pray,

These faithful lampholders ne’er stray.

Beseeching from the Source of Light,

I wrestled with Him through the night.

A foggy fortnight passed me by

With cirrus shadowing one eye.

A sudden shade eclipsed my days,

Attempting to confuse my ways.

I’d blink and stare and stop to see,

But vision still eluded me.

As fear’s own forces raised their swords,

With daggers forged from daunting words,

I sketched a line and stood my ground,

My own lost lens to be refound.

Then, tracing images by heart,

I drew upon a missing part.

For other hands, they held me dear

By interceding through to clear.

True vision rests in mind control,

Perceiving insights of the soul.

Mere repetition, prayer is not,

Not unexpected faith begot.

Pure promises may yet await

For miracles, not yet too late.

No MonSter may exhaust the beam,

For sights may not be all they seem.

Though days and weeks may be a blur,

My faith is focused. I concur.

The Healer’s power will persist.

Lampholders: thanks for the assist.
