Wednesday

Definitely Delayed

Apologies. I may be late.
My drive is dilatory. Great.
I will arrive
Past time. Take five.
I’m on my way, at any rate.

The beast that guards the clock is off.
Methinks he took a frothy quaff.
My timing quit.
I must admit.
And so I beg you not to scoff.

Priorities bid me to rush.
But calendars are prone to crush.
Excuses fail,
Beyond the pale.
The best that I can do is blush.

A-Z sketches in verse: Zodiacal Zones’ Unknowns

I do not trace the zodiac.
I do not know my sign.
It’s not that I want money back;
I wait for the divine.

As choices clamor for our eyes,
We focus where we may.
Our hearts do quickly improvise
To give ideas full sway.

The stars may tell a story, true.
For evil or for good.
And though I cannot speak for you,
They’re oft misunderstood.

The future may surprise us all,
Assumptions tossed afield.
No matter what the cosmic scrawl,
The truth will be revealed.

A-Z sketches in verse: Time Trials

My best friend’s husband Nate
Is fearful to be late.
It’s tick and tock
And run. Don’t walk.
Just hurry up and wait.

His ever hurried state
Brings marital debate.
To live by clock,
No time to talk,
Affection does deflate.

The pace on her will grate.
This we anticipate.
We mean no knock,
But sense no shock
At his turnover rate.

T is for Tablet – Rhymed Acrostics A to Z

Have you tried a tablet yet? These handy reading and gaming devices may be portable, or they may actually perform the transporting – at least, in another sense.

Tablet

This tablet takes me everywhere,

All filled with games and books to spare.

But, mercy me, I’ve ditched my sight,

Lost lingering in light each night.

Eyes blurred, I rise to face each sun

Too tired to think, by reads undone.
