Coming clean

Because a change of season is good reason to let the breeze in.

Coming clean

The clock is shifting. Months unwind.
It’s time to leave the rest behind.
The snuffs that emanate from stuff
Must be removed. I’ve had enough.

In flowing force, I fill four crates
With fashions from my shifting weights.
I slide the boxes to the stairs.
Continuation? No one cares.

The rhythm of the season calls.
It’s nearly time to deck the halls.
No pressure but my urge to sort;
Decluttering’s Olympic sport.

Throw up the windows; catch a gust.
Arrange the knick-knacks. Kick up dust.
The vacuum sings its favorite keen.
C’mon, who says a whistle’s clean?
