Undertow of Untruth: A-Z verses from vintage visages

 Undertow of Untruth

The waters whisper in your head

Of words convincing, full of dread.

The undertow may pull you down,

With words rolled by to make you drown.

Alas, a friend has proved untrue.

She’s not unique in such purview.

The tide will drift. Send her adrift.

Waste no more moments being miffed.

A time out cannot fit the bill.

So listen not to shell or shill.

No secrets sleep over your soul;

Her falsehood’s out of  your control.

Let us not undertake to boast,

No payback in the uttermost.

Such drama’s not our downward spool,

For we completed middle school.

  1. Great poem! I also love writing poetry, though I have not used it for my A to Z Challenge.
