H is for Hurricane - Rhymed
Acrostics A to Z
Holy moley! Hold on tight! Looks like stormy weather.
Hurricane
Have you ever stood in a hurricane,
Under the blast and waves of rain?
Race for the shelter. There abide.
Reach for the loved ones tossed aside.
In a storm, with whirling gust,
Can we congregate? We must.
After all, the tempest blows,
Never warning where he goes,
Ever thrashing friends and foes.

Nice acrostic! No, thankfully, I've never sat through a hurricane. But I saw the effects of Hurricane Hugo the day after...
ReplyDeleteI'm a trying-to-be poet and I've never hear of an acrostic poem. Will certainly read you post on how to write one. Nice, fun poem.
