Fresh Face-off

My crew is real, authentic, sweet.
We take our masks off when we meet.
Though others think us rather odd,
We make no room for false façade.
Our trust o’er time has grown complete.

And though at times we disagree
With views that vary by degree,
We hug it out with bond secure,
And we our friendships reassure.
Respect is actuality.

The stories shared could curl one’s hair,
As of our lives we freely share.
No gossip, dirt, or tawdry tales,
We weigh our words on wisdom’s scales
To hold each other up in prayer.

So frequently we do perceive
Almighty does our cries receive.
His answers often beat our clock
And knock our feet from every sock
With blessings past what we’d believe.

We wish all friendships could be so.
But other ties do ebb and flow.
Relationships may disappoint,
And send some noses out of joint.
True harmony most oft forgo.
