Beware of the package that ticks,

For pranksters are up to their tricks.

With foibles and falls

The April Fool calls.

The smartest among us predicts.

So sniff before tasting and peek.

Look out for the craftiest sneak.

Check shoes before toes

And watch all that glows

To minimize havoc he’d wreak.

Tomorrow his joke will be old,

Perhaps never even retold.

Today, we with watch,

His banter to botch,

Revealing his April Fool’s gold.
