Great Reads and Good Deeds
Fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen was born on April 2, 1805. Marking this occasion, April 2nd has become known as International Children’s Book Day.
Today’s poem celebrates this holiday.
Great Reads and Good Deeds
Curl up with me, here in this nook.
We’ll open our favorite book.
You flip the first page,
And we’ll reengage
With pictures and gobbledygook.
Our read-aloud moments are fond,
With stories that take us beyond.
May dragon and steed
Our memories feed,
Cementing our own special bond.

Interesting! I had no idea it was his birthday today. my brother is named after him.
ReplyDeleteHans Christian Anderson makes me think of reading books at my Grandma's house when I was a little girl. Thanks for that warm and fuzzy today!
