The Rumormonger’s Report
(posted for the A to Z Challenge)
R is for Rumors and Reports.
Rumormonger’s Report
The shooter of scuttlebutt sits
And spins several yarns, as she knits.
She’s flapping her jaw.
What’s stuck in her craw,
While ripping an old friend to bits?
With chit-chat most vile and sham,
The gossip vends loud-spoken spam.
She'll tittle and tat,
A-chewing the fat,
With any old Miss or Madame.
Outside of her circle they fall,
Ripped out like torn rows in her shawl.
Unmended, they lie,
No chance to deny
The gall of her tales told so tall.
