Abandon Flip: A-Z verses from vintage visages

Abandon Flip: Limericked Lines on Folly’s Fines

Abandon hope, ye freshlyfooled,
By myst’ry numbed and ridiculed.
Before the dawn was yet delayed,
The hand was dealt. The game was played.
Alas, by scorn you have been schooled.

Although you may have been misled,
Refresh yourself with truth instead.
Sad lemons pucker, yet bring cheer,
Restoring balance, hope sincere.
It isn’t always in your head.

Though halting feelings flicker by
To banish each elated cry,
Within the heart, joy may deploy.
An April Fool may hear, “Good boy.”
The day is young yet. Fortify!

The burro rests. The wine is poured.
The bread is broken, weapons stored.
Abandoned hope refills the fool.
Tomorrow is a lot less cruel.
Endurance is its own reward.

The Jester Rules

The Jester Rules

April Fools Fun –

A Limericked Roll on a Day’s Parole

The first of April, time for tools –

Let’s play some pranks and break some rules.

Inpunity may reign today

Tomorrow, we’ll have dues to pay.

For just one day, the jester rules.

Boredom Busters

Call the doctor; call him stat.
Summon here the bureaucrat.
Please inject excitement now,
Wild-eyed wonder, holy cow!

We have an emergency
Of the highest urgency.
Entertain us; we are bored,
And we will not be ignored.

Weakest comedy abounds –
Silly lines, insipid sounds.
Someone’s bending our best ears.
Life is not as it appears.

Boredom-busters: take your guard.
Entertainment can be hard.
Exercise your finest wit,
Or we’ll have a hissy fit.

Wandering minds may take their leave,
Seeking thrill through make-believe.
Sticky subjects to avoid –
Tricky topics, paranoid.

Jokes grow older; quips grow cold.
Stories fail when over-told.
Call a comic with some class,
Or we’ll simply take a pass.

Boredom-busters: rescue us!
We have nothing to discuss.
Still, we long for lighter times.
Boredom may be cured by rhymes.

Knock-Knock Know-How

"Knock-Knock!"

The weekend is here! Just for fun, we're taking a look at knock-knock jokes.

The secrets to knock-knock jokes are twofold: wordplay and timing. Here are a few examples of our favorites for all ages, both comical and corny, to elicit either chuckles or groans from punsters or pundits.

After all, when it comes to knock-knocks, you either love 'em, or you hate 'em, but you certainly will repeat 'em!

Knock-Knock Know-How

"Knock-knock."
"Who's there?"
"Sally."
"Sally Who?"
"Sally-brate good times, come on! It's a Sally-bration!"

"Knock-knock."
"Who's there?"
"Hatch."
"Hatch Who?"
"Gesundheit! Need a Kleenex?"

"Knock-knock."
"Who's there?"
"Water."
"Water Who?"
"Water you doing in my house?"
