Tunnel provision

Where is the spark, when it all seems so dark?

Tunnel provision

Eternity may feel too far,
Like grasping for a distant star.
A transformation is afoot;
Our heartfelt ways have gone kaput.

But still, a quiet hope is found.
It trickles in without a sound.
For just a moment, comes a glance
Of something more than happenstance.

As tunnels dark do often run
To open doorways to the sun,
We stumble forward at a crawl
And reach for reason, though we fall.

A stream of smoke twirls overhead;
It trails a bright light oft misread.
Oh, dare we hope it’s not too late
To find what we anticipate?

Hat trick or treat

For Halloween masquerading, sometimes dare-ful includes being careful.

Hat trick or treat

The scariest costume’s a vision indeed.
Just try taking trails in a getup extreme.
It’s truly enough to make your eyes bleed.
You might even wish it was all a bad dream.

Simplicity’s handy, when crafting a look.
I’m not just a killjoy, but here’s my defense.
When going for candy, by hook or by crook,
You can’t hold a candle to good common sense.

As wee trick or treaters garb up and go out,
Let’s aim for a recipe, safe on the spot.
Designing a costume that’s tuned up to tout
May be quite ornate, but again, maybe not.

No truth in the booth

When it comes to directives, maybe it’s more about perspectives.

No truth in the booth
An acrostic selection on the pending election

Conflict and chaos send voters awhirl,
As contrary claims are debunked, truth grows muddled.
No ballots are counted, but we’ve come hinged.
Don’t we know better by now?
It’s clear the world’s gone topsy-turvy.
Debaters dig deep for dirt, and vice-versa.
Ask anybody. Even the future’s door is turned upside down.
Time for a reset. We’re not gonna find a Savior on the ballot.
Everything changes when we realize this isn’t really our home.
Suppose we remember the Lord isn’t running for President.
