Hatching heavy hankerings: A-Z verses from vintage visages

Hatching heavy hankerings

I’m holding heavies in my head.
Such midnight musings I may dread.
I dreams dispatch,
Lest horrors hatch
And find their home with me instead.

It’s time to stop and simply shrug.
Hallucinations need no hug.
“Aha!” I shout.
And thrash about.
To squash each secret like a bug.

I wish sometimes I could take flight
To soar aloft by Heaven’s light.
I’d flip and flit,
Not give a whit.
Farewell, ye flutters, and goodnight.
