Great Reads and Good Deeds

Great Reads and Good Deeds
(posted for the A to Z Challenge)

B is for Book.

Fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen was born on April 2, 1805. Marking this occasion, April 2nd has become known as International Children’s Book Day

Today’s poem celebrates this holiday.

Great Reads and Good Deeds

Curl up with me, here in this nook.
We’ll open our favorite book.
You flip the first page,
And we’ll reengage
With pictures and gobbledygook.

Our read-aloud moments are fond,
With stories that take us beyond.
May dragon and steed
Our memories feed,
Cementing our own special bond.

  3. I still love reading children's books, I grew up with Enid Blyton and loved her adventure stories.

It's great to listen to my daughters read stories to me and know that they too enjoy reading books.

  5. Hans Christian Anderson makes me think of reading books at my Grandma's house when I was a little girl. Thanks for that warm and fuzzy today!
