A Poetic Rumble on One Who's Not Humble


When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom.
The integrity of the upright guides them,
but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.
(Proverbs 11:2-3)


“It’s my way or the highway,”
The rugged ‘dozer growled.
And, Saturday through Friday,
His steaming engine howled.

The smaller trucks and those on foot,
He shoved out of his way
To dig up dirt and smut and soot
In his great power-play.
